Terms and Conditions

Returns Policy

Once an item leaves the store, it cannot be returned. This includes gowns, shoes and accessories.    All items must be inspected by you before accepting them.

Any goods on Sale or Sold as Seen are non returnable or exchangeable.  All Sale goods should be paid for on the day of purchase.    This applies to all shop samples whether they are discontinued styles or current styles from any designer.     Sample gowns are sold as seen and therefore may have some imperfections which do not render the gown as faulty.   Stock or sample gowns may require minor repairs and/or cleaning and this not the responsibility of Country Brides.   Each gown or purchase must be inspected prior to leaving the store as any damage not documented will be at the responsibility of the customer.   Your statutory rights are not affected.

Once a purchase order/invoice has been signed by the customer, verbally or in writing,  this is a legally binding contract, and payment in full will remain due even if the order is cancelled.  A contract will be deemed to be agreed upon when a deposit has been made or on signing of the purchase order.   Our contract with you is to provide you with your gown in time for your wedding in a satisfactory condition.   In the unlikely event of a gown arriving which is not acceptable, we will arrange for a replacement within a reasonable timescale.   This is not an acceptable reason to cancel your contract and your contract will remain unfulfilled until the replacement gown has arrived and been inspected.     Estimated arrival times will be given at the time of the order.   Occasionally, in peak times, these delivery times may vary.   If we are informed by the supplier that your gown will be delayed we will let you know.

Deposits and part or full payments are non-refundable.   Items specially ordered cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.

This does not affect your legal rights, including your right to claim a replacement or repair where the goods are faulty or misdescribed.

Any claim for faulty goods must be made in writing within 7 days of the item leaving our stores.    If an item is found to be faulty before leaving our stores it will either be repaired or replaced as appropriate.

If there is any evidence that the item has been worn or used no claim for faulty items will be accepted.

On your first fitting we very carefully ensure we measure you accurately. When placing your order with us you are agreeing that we have taken your measurements correctly as on that day.

Measurements given to us, taken by a third party, are at your discretion. We accept no responsibility for any inaccuracies in any measurements not taken by our staff members.

Variations to initial measurements

It is your responsibility to inform us of any pregnancies you are aware of at time of fittings. Should you or a member of your bridal party become pregnant in-between fitting dates or after you have received your final fitting but before your wedding day we cannot be held responsible for any alterations or even replacement dresses  if required.

In the event of the cancellation of a order,  payment in full will be required.    Items specially ordered cannot be cancelled as the orders are placed immediately upon receipt of the full deposit.

In the event of a credit note these are issued at the management’s discretion. Credit notes are non-transferable,  can only be used by the individual whose name appears on the credit note. If these are misused they will be retained by the stores.

This does not affect your legal rights, including your right to claim a replacement or repair  where the goods are faulty or misdescribed.

Any claim for faulty goods must be made within 7 days of the item leaving our stores.

All dresses that are in the stores are subject to a £5 per week charge if they are not collected, as a storage fee, unless there is a written confirmation from a manager otherwise.

Payment Plans

We do allow customers to purchase over an agreed period of time and pay in instalments.

The time scales are agreed on the day of purchase.    Failure to adhere to these payment scales may result in a cancellation of the contract and no deposits will be refunded.

We reserve the right to charge interest on unpaid balances and to take further steps to recover monies in the event of non payment of ordered goods.

All order balances must be cleared when the store receives them. If a 50% has been received the remaining balance is due within 4 weeks of the store ringing to advise its in.

All late balances are liable for a 2% a month charge.

Sample Gowns and Stock Gowns

Discontinued gowns may be offered at reductions of up to 70% on list price.

In the event of a customer accepting the shop sample or stock held of a current gown there may be a reduction of up to £100 offered.

All our gowns are kept in pristine condition.   Prior to releasing these are specialist cleaned (NOT DRY CLEANED) and steam pressed.

Photographs

In signing your contract you are also agreeing to Country Brides using photographs and images taken of you and your wedding party on social media.   If you wish to opt out of this please let us know as soon as possible.

Alterations

All adjustments to your gown are chargeable direct to the customer by the seamstress who will inform you of the charges for their services.   We do not add a premium to these charges and the contract is between the customer and the seamstress.

You are not under any obligation to use our seamstresses.

The cost of alterations does vary depending upon the amount of work involved. As a general rule, bridesmaid dresses can cost between £40 and £190 to alter, with wedding gowns costing between £140 and £495.   When having your first fitting please ask the seamstress for an approximate cost of the job.

Fittings must be done together , all the bridal party, otherwise there is a £10 charge for seperate appointments. This is to cover the seamstress being on site and a small admin charge.

We cannot be held responsible if a gown does not fit at a later date if it fitted in the store. When a gown is specially ordered customers are consulted on which size to order. We usually recommend that you order the closest size to your actual fit.

We do not alter dresses from other suppliers including other bridal stores, and the internet.
